Davitamon Vitamin K Oil
Davitamon Vitamin K Oil can be given to breastfeeding babies from the age of 8 days to 3 months and is intended to help promote effective blood clotting. As breast milk contains only small amounts of vitamin K, which is routinely added to bottled milk, doctors, obstetricians and gynaecologists often recommend Davitamon Vitamin K Oil for babies who are breastfeeding.
Product Details Davitamon K Oil
Davitamon K Oil has been specifically formulated for babies who are breastfeeding – as breast milk contains insufficient quantities of vitamin K and babies are unable to produce vitamin K in the bowels themselves, it is important that infants who are breastfeeding receive extra Davitamon K Oil.
If you are breastfeeding your baby you can administer Davitamon K Oil yourself. Start by giving Davitamon K Oil as soon as your baby is eight days old and continue until 12 weeks of age. Give 5 drops of Davitamon Vitamin K Oil to your baby daily, either on a teaspoon or by dribbling the drops directly onto your nipple. Always take care to ensure that the Davitamon K Oil bottle doesn’t come into contact with either your baby's mouth or food.
The Nederlandse Gezondheidsraad (the Dutch Health Council) recommends that breastfeeding babies between 8 days and 12 weeks of age be given 150 micrograms of vitamin K daily. Always consult your doctor, midwife or obstetrician before you give Davitamon Vitamin K Oil to your baby. It is advised not to exceed the maximum recommended daily dose. Once open, store Davitamon K Oil in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate and keep out of the reach of children. One drop of Davitamon Vitamin K Oil contains 30 micrograms of vitamin K dissolved in vegetable oil.
