Because of the Calcium-rich terroir, Mediterranean climate and relative high altitude of the vineyard are the winemakers of Château de Pennautier capable of making a beautiful fresh chardonnay of a high quality.
About: Château de Pennautier
Château de Pennautier is established in the 17th century. The family Lorgeril is producing exquisite wines for generations. The Chardonnay vines are planted on hills at a high altitude, which consist of calcium rich soil. At night the temperatures decrease to mature the grapes better.
Wine production has been for ages the economic engine of the Languedoc region. Because of the enormous wine production in Languedoc, the region has its name ‘the French wine barn’. The high production is possible because of the relative constant climate. The overproduction of wine made it possible for the vineyards to expand their territories. The latest couple of years, there are a lot of vineyards that are experimenting with new vinification techniques and new grapes. This given fact gives this region in France a huge amount of excellent wine producers.
