About: Maison Veuve A. Devaux
Maison Veuve A. Devaux is in different aspects an extraordinary Champagne House. The Maison is located in the most southern part of the region Champagne, called the Côte des Bargenaamd. The Pinot Noir is the most important grape in this district. Therefore, the Pinot Noir is the major grape in the assemblage of Devaux. This distinguishes the champagne from others. Furthermore, Devaux uses grapes exclusively from her own vineyards.
The Champagne is the most northern wine district in France and is praised for the sparkling wines. The borders of the district have been established in 1927 and since 1996 is the name Champagne exclusively for sparkling wines produced in Champagne. Champagne can be produced with three races of grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier. However, most of the times an assemblage is used in the production of champagne.
