Infant formula production process
Factories of Neolac infant formula are all based in The Netherlands, so the 100% Dutch cow milk can be directly processed. In total there are three factories. The first Neolac factory is based in Ommen, in the middle of The Netherlands. Here the milk powder is produced, made of organic milk from Dutch cows that graze at least 120 days per year in the pasture of the Dutch countryside. The further process is taking place in the North of the Netherlands, in Leeuwarden and Kampen, these Neolac factories are originated in 1912. Since 1983 the factory produces Neolac baby milk formulas and child nutrition.

Breast feeding is the best way to feed your child nutrition. It contains everything what your child needs for healthy growth and development. But if you do decide to switch to formula, then Neolac is the natural next step. The Organic Infant Milk of Neolac is exclusively made from organic cow’s milk sourced exclusively from Dutch cows. The Organic formula is enriched with special nutrients, such as GOS (prebiotic fibre) and the unsaturated fatty acids, DHA & AA. We recommend you first consult your doctor or health clinic before deciding to start with bottle feeding, and always follow the instructions on the packaging, unless otherwise prescribed.
It’s organic certified
All infant formula products of Neolac are organic certified and in compliance with Dutch and European legislations. That is why Neolac packaging displays both the EU organic quality mark (green & white leaf) and the Dutch organic quality mark (black & white EKO logo).
Dutch characteristics of organic agriculture:
1. Absolute prohibition of the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
2. No chemical pesticides or artificial fertilizers are used.
3. Cows graze at least 120 days a year in the pasture. When weather gets colder in winter, these cows are housed in large sheds and eat organic feed.
4. Respecting the environment by responsible use of natural resources, maintenance of biodiversity, enhancement of soil fertility, and maintenance of water quality
An organic product must at least consist of 95% or more certified organic ingredients. Neolac Organic goes beyond this: for example, the GOS (prebiotic fibre) in their infant milk is organic as well. GOS is a nutritional fiber that assists in the growth of healthy bacteria that support your baby's digestive system. For ingredients that are not available from organic sources, such as DHA, Neolac uses other sustainable sources as: Algae instead of fish oil.
Sustainably sourced DHA & AA
DHA & AA are unsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Brain and eye tissue have a high concentration of DHA. The most common source of DHA is fish-oil. DHA from algae is the sustainable alternative. Neolac guarantees that its Organic 2 Follow-on milk only contains DHA which is sustainably sourced from algae.
User friendly & sustainable packaging
